NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

 

NOTICE is hereby given that the City of Cottonwood Texas will hold a PUBLIC HEARING on Monday October 6, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in the Civic Center, 8330 FM 2451, Scurry Texas.

The purpose of the Public Hearing is to hear citizens’ opinions in favor for of or in opposition to the City of Cottonwood’s proposed 2025/2026 Fiscal Year Budget, beginning October 1, 2025 and ending September 30, 2026.

This budget will raise more in total property taxes than last years budget by $1,520.11.

Property tax rate FY 2024/2025 = .238308/100. Net Certified Taxable Property Value: 18,688,236.00.

Property tax rate FY 2025/2026= .223771/100. Net Certified Taxable Property Value: 20,581,611.00.

 FINANCIAL REPORTS: Year-to-Date Financial Statements through September 2025.

  • ORDINANCE: REGARDING 2025 TAX RATE: Consideration and approval of an ordinance adopting the previously approved 2025 property tax rate of $0.25 per $100 of taxable value.
  • CR 4084 – TREE LIMB REMOVAL: Discussion and action regarding pricing for removal of a dead tree limb.

  • CITY ROAD MAINTENANCE (CR 4083 & CR 4084): Discussion on road maintenance for CR 4083 and CR 4084. Maintenance of ditches as needed. Approval of resident notification letter regarding maintenance responsibilities.
