NOTICE is hereby given that the City of Cottonwood Texas will hold a PUBLIC HEARING on Monday October 6, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in the Civic Center, 8330 FM 2451, Scurry Texas.
The purpose of the Public Hearing is to hear citizens’ opinions in favor for of or in opposition to the City of Cottonwood’s proposed 2025/2026 Fiscal Year Budget, beginning October 1, 2025 and ending September 30, 2026.
This budget will raise more in total property taxes than last years budget by $1,520.11.
Property tax rate FY 2024/2025 = .238308/100. Net Certified Taxable Property Value: 18,688,236.00.

- AMERICAN NATIONAL BANK CD: Motion for Investment in Certificate of Deposit (CD):
- I move that the council deliberate and approve the investment of $10,000 from the City of Cottonwood Restrictive Account into an 11-month Certificate of Deposit (CD) with American National Bank, at the current available interest rate. The funds shall remain in the CD until maturity, unless an emergency withdrawal is authorized by a formal vote of the council.
- RENEWAL OF TAX COLLECTION CONTRACT: Approval renewing Linebarger Goggan Blair and Sampson, LLP (“Linebarger”) collection of delinquent property taxes.
